Christopher Raymo, the DRC Music Director, a professional musician, has created an inspiring, comfortable, supportive, and dynamic music program. The music room is a place where every kid who wants to be involved, has the opportunity to explore a variety of instruments and where they can delve as deeply into their musical education as they would like.
Christopher Raymo, the DRC Music Director, a professional musician, has created an inspiring, comfortable, supportive, and dynamic music program. The music room is a place where every kid who wants to be involved, has the opportunity to explore a variety of instruments and where they can delve as deeply into their musical education as they would like.
Program Components:
Every month the music program focuses on one specific topic or time period in musical history to connect theory, the physics of sound, melodic construction, styles and techniques, as well as engineering. The students will have the opportunity to discover various genres and to play a variety of instruments through group and individual lessons as well as independent jam sessions. DRC members have unrestricted access to the music room to explore sound on their own. They will also have the opportunity to use sound and video recording equipment to document their unique creations.
