The Distance Learning Program is for students who want to opt-out of public school to take charge of their education, but are not able to attend DRC in person. This program can be as flexible as the student requires, with two membership levels, as well as additional per hour support. 

How it Works:

• Each distance learning student will develop an individualized learning plan (including their IHIP), which represents their interests and goals, with Maria via video conferencing or phone conversation.
  
• The student will then work together with the staff and other students to develop a schedule for the opportunities (including projects, activities, classes, and social hangout time) that they would like to participate in at Deep Root Center, based on their interests and level of membership. The staff will schedule and facilitate these video conference conversations.  As of February 1st, 2021, The DRC Server (Portal) on the Discord App will be the primary tool used for virtual connection. 
• The student will join those opportunities via video conferencing each week as their membership level specifies
  
• The student will meet with their mentor each week via video conferencing to discuss progress, seek advice, and resources.
• The student and mentor will meet via video conferencing every ten weeks (to write the quarterly reports).
