Behind the Scenes: Christopher Raymo, the DRC Music Director, a professional musician, has created an inspiring, comfortable, supportive, and dynamic music program. The music room is a place where every kid who wants to be involved, has the opportunity to explore a variety of instruments and where they can delve as deeply into their musical education as they would like.
Monthly Theme: Every month the music program at DRC focuses on one specific time period in musical history. The students will examine how current events during that period influenced the musicians and their style and conversely how the music they were creating inspired popular culture, politics, as well as world affairs.
The lessons center on the actual sound, techniques, as well as engineering, and will give the students the opportunity to explore what it may have been like to live and perform during each era.
